Adult Foster Care Mission Team

During the year, the Foster Care Mission Team organizes projects as an outreach to several foster care homes in the area of the church. Church members send birthday and holiday cards to individuals in four of the local foster care homes. Holiday baskets and parties are some of the other activities.

The team focuses most of its time and attention on one foster care home on Mary Street. Transportation to the church is provided each Sunday morning for the residents to attend the worship service and occasional church school classes. At holiday times, such as "Halloween, Valentine's Day, Christmas, and Easter, "goodie bags" with treats are provided for the men from this home. After Christmas and Easter services, poinsettias and Easter lilies are delivered to their home.

Other activities that have been provided for the Mary Street residents are: transportation to community-wide dances, baseball games, and band concerts; riding in a horse drawn wagon in the Cereal City parade; and visits to Binder Park Zoo and the Calhoun County Fair.

The team is always looking for additional team members to be involved with this vital ministry. Anyone interested in joining the mission team or simply helping with a project of the team should call the church office to volunteer. It can be a greatly rewarding experience.
