Devotional BookletsLenten Devotional Booklets are compiled from the reflections and personal anecdotes of members of FCC. All members are invited to sign-up for a particular date in the Lenten calendar to contribute their ideas to the scripture chosen for that day. Several members of the Worship & Fine Arts Committee and Pastor Leah plan the theme, questions for reflection, and scripture passages that will help guide the writers and accompany the readers through their Lenten journey. Many people have reflected on how their spiritual awareness and relationship to God has been enriched through both the writing process and daily reading of the devotionals. For some, this is a thought-provoking, creative, and artistic outlet.The Lenten Devotional Booklets follow the days of Lent, with encouragement on Saturdays to revisit the past week's writings to spend time in reflection and prayer. For many, the work on the devotional has become a part of their Lenten experience in a meaningful way, strengthening their sense of communion within the faith community. The devotionals are created at the church every year by committee members and staff. Each household receives a free copy just before the beginning of Lent, either after worship or through the mail. |
