Disaster Relief Mission TeamThe Disaster Relief Mission Team of the First Congregational Church was formed for the purpose of serving people in times of need and distress. Each of the mission team members received over fifteen hours of training and was certified as an authorized representative of the American Red Cross for Emergency Disaster Relief Operations. Our church building was evaluated and established as a potential Red Cross Disaster Relief site for our community. Some team members have responded to local emergency needs and one person was able to respond to a request from the Red Cross to serve in the Katrina Hurricane Emergency Relief Operations in New Orleans. |
