In Our Own WordsColleen - I Love My Church Because ----------- Choir Camp 2006 "Once Upon A Parable" - A Parent's Opinion - Sarah Harnden When I asked my 10 yr old daughter about how she felt about choir camp, her reply was, 'It's fun!' Her 5yr old little brother added, "Yeah, it's fun." Again, I asked, "But how do you really feel?" She said, "Oh, it's so much fun to act and sing, and learn about the bible." Hmmm I thought to learn about the bible while having fun. Each day they share at the dinner table the fun stories they learned at morning devotions. They talk about new friends they have made and new songs they have learned. I have observed the shy and timid children, blossom into confident, outgoing children. I've seen a gathering of children from various denominations come together and rejoice with the common thread of music. What great memories these children will have, just as I did, growing up at First Congregational Church. |
