Expressions"Let them praise God's name in dance!" Psalm 149:3To worship God in dance, has a rich and Biblical tradition. There are many references in scripture regarding the use of dance as a form of joyous celebration and of meaningful worship. Our focus is to enhance the worship service, much in the way the choir enhances our hymns or the addition of instruments enhance the choir. Dance offers an enormous range of forms and expressions in worship. This past year our "liturgical dance" group changed it's name to "Expressions" because of the very definition of the word: lively or vivid representation of meaning, sentiment, or feeling. The Persian poet Rumi wrote, 'He that knows the power of the dance dwells in God'. We are compelled to express the spirit within us and to celebrate our journey as disciples of Christ. It is our hope that those who see us understand the spirit of the dance in celebration and praise as we worship God.
