Farewell to 145 Capital Ave: July 12th, 3:00PM
For nearly a century, the people of First Congregational Church of Battle Creek have worshipped in the historic facility at 145 Capital Ave NE in downtown Battle Creek.
We have made the courageous choice to sell our facility in order to ensure both our sustainability as a faith community, and to invite a new season of stewardship of the building so that it may continue to be an asset for the whole community. Learn more about that choice here.
As we approach the building’s sale, it is time for us to say goodbye to the land and the structure that have been our home as we begin a new stage of our journey.
We invite our congregation and friends from the wider community to join us for a final worship service at 145 Capital Ave NE on Sunday, July 12th, at 3PM.
As a community, we will give thanks for the century of ministry that has unfolded in these walls. We will hear the good news proclaimed, our sacred stories retold, and fill the walls with song and prayer as we formally de-commission the space as a place of worship and entrust it to the care of its new owners and stewards.
A reception will follow in the Courtyard, and you’ll have the opportunity to peruse some of the historical displays in connection with our 190th Anniversary Celebration.
